At the Franklin County Achievement School, we are dedicated to empowering juniors and seniors to achieve their full potential through a dynamic and personalized education that integrates rigorous academics with real-world, work-based learning experiences. Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive community where students are inspired to explore their interests, develop essential skills, and gain practical knowledge that prepares them for success in both their careers and lives. - Enhance Academic Rigor and Real-World Application: Partner with local businesses and organizations to provide project and work-based learning opportunities along mentorship programs that align with students' academic and career interests.
- Foster a Positive and Supportive Learning Environment: Implement programs and initiatives that support students' mental health and well-being, such as peer mentoring, counseling services, and extracurricular activities that encourage social-emotional learning.
- Cultivate Creativity and Critical Thinking Skills: Integrate innovative problem-solving activities encourage creative expression and critical thinking.
- Promote Financial Literacy and Personal Finance Education: Provide students with practical experiences, such as participating in financial simulations, and engaging with financial industry professionals.
- Encourage Self-Discovery and Personal Growth: Implement programs and activities that help students explore their strengths, interests, and values to build a strong sense of self and future career aspirations.
- Up to two hours each week supporting interactive financial literacy in partnership with Junior Achievement. Experiences will include financial literacy, personal finance, and understanding the stock market.
- Weekly checks-ins on work-based learning growth
- Three hours of engaging in the work-based learning initiative.
- Students will be working at a local establishment/business with the expectation of following employer guidelines and turning in paycheck stubs to earn credit.
- Students will earn up to two (2) credits toward graduation with 150 hours of work-based learning.
