Financial Aid Information
FAFSA DAY at FCHS!
Students can get FREE, one-on-one help from the experts! The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will take place from 10 AM-6 PM on November 3, 2026 in the FCHS Early College Room (Rm 104). Interested parents can sign up at this link or is provided on a first come, first serve basis. Both the parent and student should create an FSA ID prior to the meeting. Instructions can be provided for you by reaching out to the Office of Student Services. Ivy Tech will be here on October 12 to help students create their FSA ID
Parents and guardians – please note that the FAFSA is 100% free. Services requesting payment for processing your FAFSA are not directly associated with the government.
Attention 21st Century Scholars!
All 21st Century Scholars must complete the following steps to access their scholarship.
- File a FAFSA by April 15th each year
- Apply to an eligible Indiana College during their senior year of high school
- Enroll as a full-time student in college
- Maintain Indiana Residency (parents must maintain this as well!)
- Review state financial aid requirements including the new College Credit Hour Completion Requirement
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA
- Complete required ScholarTrack activities by end of senior year
- Graduate with a Core 40 diploma or higher
Other Important Information
Indiana College Core
Do you want to get a head start on college? The Indiana College Core allows high school students to earn 30 general education credits that can be transferred as a block to any public college or university in Indiana, as well as some private institutions. In other words, students who earn the College Core in high school may already be finished with their first year of college at a fraction of the cost. To learn more about the Indiana College Core and put together your plan, use My College Core (mycollegecore.org) and work closely with your school counselor.
What is FAFSA?
The Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the most important document for determining if you’re eligible for financial aid — money to help you pay for education and training beyond high school. The easiest way to file the FAFSA is online at FAFSA.gov.
After you file your FAFSA, your college will be able to tell you which scholarships and grants you could receive as well as how much money you can borrow in federal loans.
